Roots Down (by Kristen Arant)

I put my roots down into the earth. I put my roots down, down, down into the earth.

Mother I Feel you Under My Feet (modified from original by Dianne Windsong Martin)

Mother, I feel you under my feet. Mother, I feel your heart beat.

Rooted, rooted, rooted down. Rooted in your sacred ground.

Thank You Chant (by Vic Dunn and Sheva Melmed)

Thank you, Spirit, for your blessings.

Thank you Spirit, for your Love.

Your love. Your love. Your love.

Dream Deep (by Libana)

Deep down in the belly of the night

Dream deep winter dreams

And lie safe in your Grandmother’s Arms

Still as a seed  still as a seed

Deep and Dark (by Vic Dunn and Sheva Melmed)

Deep as the earth, Dark as a seed.

Deep as the dream that grows in me.

Deep and dark, deep and dark

Deep and dark, Deep and Dark

Deep as the ocean, dark as they sea

Dark as the blood that flows through me.

Deep and dark, deep and dark

Deep and dark, Deep and Dark

Deep as the winter, Dark as the night

Deep as my heart when my soul takes flight

Deep and dark, deep and dark

Deep and dark, deep and dark.

The Dancing Species (by Emily Kedar)

We are the dancing species. Practice this sacred power. We are the shapeshifters, sheltering the common spark of all form in the curling ribbon of changing breath.

Try on other skins, and move around in them. Become spring rain, blood lusting tiger, watchful gazelle.

One beat to the next,

Become anything, all by flailing through space and catching yourself, falling and catching, falling and catching. Music carrying you, beyond and through all form.

Practice this power. Let it ground you, feed you.

Shapeshifter, lean in

To the rhythm, fall through space,

Body melt into song’s silent light,

Change, change, change,

Now water, now flame,

Now the big wave of grief,

And the clear night of desire,

All woven into bodies,

Falling in time.

Oh dancer,

Become the breath itself,

Here you are vanishing

And you’ve never been more here.

Deep Peace (traditional Gaelic blessing with lyrics by Bill Douglas):

Deep peace of the running wave to you;

Deep peace of the flowing air to you;

Deep peace of the quiet earth to you;

Deep peace of the shining stars to you;

Deep peace of the gentle night to you;

Moon and stars pour their healing light on you.

Winter Wisdom (by Vic Dunn, Sheva Melmed, and a gathering of folks at a chant workshop)

The wisdom of winter, opens to the radiance of spring

Generation to generation

Courage, Sister (by Eric Bogle & South African Anti-apartheid Movement)

Courage, Sister. You do not walk alone.

We will walk with you and guide your spirit home.
